I am a London-based tutor but am willing to work out of London as well. I have hundreds of hours tutoring experience across the board in humanities with a particular emphasis on English and History. I have a proven success formula in the field of essay structure and presentation. I have also had a great deal of contact hours and success for interview preparation, Maths, verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning for 11+ and 13+. I like to combine fun and mentorship with an ability to really get things done. On many occasions I have proven that I can get a lot achieved with a student in a limited amount of time. However, I also really enjoy longer-term jobs where I can properly get to know someone! Personally, I don’t take a lot of breaks during my classes (unless requested) as I believe this can disrupt the flow of the lesson. I prefer to incorporate relaxation, fun and the like into the lesson without breaking stride.
I have done a wide range of tutoring all of which has had its fun and its challenges. I have tutored a GCSE student literally all day (from 9am till 6pm). I have had great success guiding scholarship candidates (e.g. Eton and Charterhouse). I have tutored children whose first language isn’t English. I have tutored children with dyslexia and other learning difficulties. I have had lots of success with the ISEB and interview preparation. I have worked very intensively over a period of several days with students requiring support with their revision. Outside of tutoring, much of my time is tied up building the brand for and working on my production company that specializes in theatre and film. If you or your child are interested in either of these fields, we have a lot to talk about!
