Teaching Experience

I have over five years of online and in-person teaching experience for students of various ages and exams. I first started by volunteering at a primary school where I work with students at KS2 level in all aspects of their curriculum, including maths, English and the sciences. During my time at university, I continued to teach GCSE students in mathematics, English literature, biology and chemistry.

My students exceeded predicted grades and some of them have continued to study these subjects at A-level. During my years of teaching, I have found that students make the most out of a lesson when they feel confident. The foundation for that is built on having a good relationship with their teacher and enjoying their lessons. This is why I take an enthusiastic and positive attitude into my lessons in order to make the student feel comfortable enough to ask any questions they have without being embarrassed or shy.

I also work hard to provide students with alternate methods and clear explanations when they approach new ideas/topics that they may find difficult, as not everyone learns or retains information the same way.
As a result, I am patient, adaptable and willing to cater to the student’s learning styles.

I am a very hard-working and enthusiastic maths major who has always loved teaching others and sharing knowledge. My definition of a good teacher is one that motivates their students, is passionate about their subject and gives 100% to making a lesson informative, interactive, and fun. It was one of these teachers that inspired me to pursue a career related to mathematics. That is what I try to emulate in my own teaching. I am keen to make all my sessions enjoyable and inspire students to explore and understand the subjects I teach in greater detail.
